EQ gets lonely, you have to buy it some friends to play with on your HD :P

I really like IWDII, it is very similar to BGII in look and feel, and playability.

At the moment I am trying to solo it as a Drow fighter/rogue, and think DnD 3rd edition rules were done really well.

If you like this genre, I highly recommend getting this game.

Very much the same vein as the first one. Its EXTREMELY linear so there's never any doubt as to where to progress, doesn't have the same free floating feel as the Baldurs Gate series.

Game engine is the same old Bioware one, 3rd Ed rules are done OK. One area where it beats the first is its ability to hit the higher levels of character power (up to L30). Almost every quest / conversation choice leads you in one line so there's never any feel that your conversation choices with NPCs mean anything. In fact there's quite often only one choice in the dialog selector so it often feels like watching a film with mouse support.

If you want some colourful hack n slash with no brain work and minimal puzzle solving/questing then its good for quite a few hours of slaughter. Fairly long in length like most of the Black Isle stuff.

Light entertainment if EQ becomes a bit of a slog at times. The Baldurs Gate series is better. If you have a PS1/PS2 then the FF Series / Legend of Dragoon / Summoner 2 type games might give you more satisfaction.

I sometimes find it hard to target mobs because its too crowded at some points.

Played it...got to the end fight and it crashed...

Unfortunately they dont' currently "support" Windows XP, so I'm SOL on actually seeing the end anytime soon.
