Default Too Sexist?

I have seen it a few times...that Miller Lite commercial when those two bombshells are arguing over whether the beer "tastes great" or is "less filling". The most recent version had removed the clip at the very end that had one girl say to the other (while wrestling around in wet cement) "Let's make out."

Sound off Erollisi Marrians! Is this commercial too sexist?

Default Too sexist?

Its a commercial. They pay, they express their message.

I read an article recently about how men are treated as big stupid morons on commercials. The reason is simple... they don't whine. They might say "thats unfair" but they aren't going to call their congressmen, boycott products, or demonstrate.

Its the same reason you can have an all black school but an all white school makes headlines.

Fair is fair, I personally think the commercial is dumb. As far as too sexist, I don't think the commercial has any merit as a freedom of speech risk and therfor they have to decide if the publicity they receive from their commercial is more positive or negative.

i thought it was funny as hell..

However.. we all know women are far to smart to have that taste great/less filling fight. We have other things to talk about when getting drunk at the bar.

All beer comercials are sexist.

The beer market is man age 18-99, and men 18-99 want one thing...sex.

Is it degrading?

hell yeah, i would be pissed too If I were stereotyped as as a person whose only purpose in life was to imbibe swill and ogle members of the opposite sex.

The women should be proud for their conviction to fight for what they believe in.

Why the hell do Americans have to be so damn uptight about nudity and so called "sexual situations" anyway?

If you go to germany and turn on the TV at 8:30 at night and surf around you WILL see boobs. Hell, last time I was there me and my GF went to an indoor pool house thingy and in the brochure that you pick up on the way in they have a picture of a girl sun bathing NAKED.

What the hell is so wrong with a little nudity here and there? I think if we were less uptight about sex then people would be more mature about it instead of snickering softly every time someone says the word nipple.

P.S. I'm American.

Nothing at all, I don't think.

But, in my observation, we (American society) have our values all out of whack where nudity and sexuality are concerned. I think the reason it's not permitted is because we (as a society) don't know how to handle it.

We're the society that invented the term "frontin'".

Societies where nudity is more common are less obssessed with glitz and image than we are. In Brazil, for instance, oogling is a lot more subtle, and the approach is as well. You don't see guys causing ruckus in order to "front" for the "honeys".

Notice also how most other societies are less picky about personal space, and don't read as much into it? In France, kissing among friends and loved ones is common. In Argentina, kissing on the cheek is a common greeting. Here in the US, you even a friendly peck on the cheek can send mixed messages that'll spark tons of gossip and have lots off people "ooh-ing" and "ah-ing".

I don't think we would handle it well. I'm not talking about you or I. But the majority of Americans.

You notice that the rest of the world doesn't have TV evangelists telling you that you're gonna burn in hell for seeing topless women in a commercial either.
