Default man lots of people seem to be leaving...

everytime i check into teh boards to check on the general populus of this server i notice a lot leaveing. Tis sad to see people go but it is understandable that some will leave and new ones come. SO i say Good luck to all those who are leaving and welcome to all those coming in.

There are probably a lot of reasons for people leaving, but I bet Sony/VI's customer support policies have a lot to do with it for some.

aye propable..that is usaly the underlying reason for a mass exsodise. Usualy it is one certain event that "breaks the camels back" so to speak that gets the person so fed up they finaly say "screw it" and leave.

i never really had any problems with CS, the reason i quit started with a fight over a spawn which in the end cost me a friend. i then saw how eq makes people act, sat back and looked at what it has done to my life, and realized i need to get away from it for awhile. i might come back in 6 months or so but wont be playing like i have been for the last 30 months. believe it or not, there have been a lot of people leave for this very reason, but you are right, CS is prolly one of the bigger reasons, some people just get the guide or gm who really dont know jack about the game or their duties to the customer, fortunately i had good dealings with them my whole game career.

best of luck emarr,

10k people play on EMarr, 3 leave per week.

Gah, within less than 25 years the server population might become quite small...

This has been going on for at least 2 years now. People leave, some stay left, some come back, new ones come back.

Tis the dynamic of an on line game.

I wouldn't worry about a mass exodus of people. It would just make it that much easier for those of us who stay. In the case of my guild, we are experiencing the largest growth in our three year history with nearly 200 active mains, half of which are old planes capable.

So, even when SWG comes out and other enticements to divert people's attention from EQ, there will be enough left to keep this going for a very long time indeed. And even when servers begin combining there will still be a long life ahead of EQ. Will EQ eventually die? Of course it will, nothing lasts forever. But I predict that many of us playing today will have ample time to explore all the nooks and crannies of this game before we eventually leave too.

I think its wrong to point a finger to Verant.
Im playing this game from the day it came online and remember the thrills when a few friends and I entered Chrushbone, or traveled to Chessboard in Butherblock mountains.

There was a lot to explore and there was a lot Mysticism in the Game..
Having a Runed Totem staff was Uber, A minotaur Axe aswel.
People had fun to do those things.

The things are changed, no more exploring, no more fun (as we had in the past).
This doesnt say that there is no fun right now... there are a lot of people who have a lot of fun when they are hunting together.. there are even whole guilds only containing friends.

The sad thing is that there are not very much true newbies at this moment.. who experiencing the same thrill's we had in the past.
The attitude from a lot of those people are way below the normal level.. as i have see a lot of times in the Rant section, regarding Buff's, Resses, Port's..

All i can say to those... Treat other people like you want to be treated.
And play this game as it intentionally was created by Verant

I wouldnt directly blame Sony's policies, as in all reality they have been pretty shitty since day one. I think it's just the fact that a lot of peeps have played this game for 3 years and are now getting tired of it.

i don't think it has anything to do with policies or customer service. as someone already said, a lot of it has to do with people having played this game for over 3 years now and are bored with it.

people always leave during certain times. one being right before an expansion (fuck if i'm going to lvl again, screw that!), a few months after an expansion (was their last hope that the game would change for some reason but it didn't and of course people are always disappointed with expansions), after holidays (people spend time with RL family and friends and begin to realize that they don't have many left due to their everquesting! lol or simply that RL can be refreshing once you're forced to xp it for awhile, when a new RPG comes out (remember the DAOC craze? most those people came back), or right before summer or before the school year.

actually most people come back anyway in any form. it sucks when people u like quit, but i'd say about 95% of my friends and guildies who have quit in the past, have come back in some capacity. they might come back as another character or as a more casual player, but they all come back muhahahahhaha!
