Default What do you think are the 3 most important spells in EQ?

(1) Slow - yes, imagine taking badass damage in PoP without slow.

group_member01 has been slain by mob3245!
mob3245 says, 'PWNED!'
cleric90 gates.

(2) Rez - could you imagine CR's without rez? you would HAVE to keep a set of CR armor banked :|

(3) CotH - Chardok. Without CotH. 'Nuff said.

3) Necromancer Pet Summon, circa Beta Phase 2 -- ever wish you could summon an NPC pet? One that hit like an NPC, tanked like an NPC, and had all the equivalent HPs and stats of an NPC of its level? Back in beta, you could. Necromancer pets in mid beta were so badass, they even summoned fleeing mobs, AND used ultra-hardcore NPC aggro messages. Back then, when Jabober told a_froglok_shin_knight03 "Time to die," he damn well meant it.

Interesting by the way that no-one has mentioned mez in this thread. This suggests to me that either everyone just raids these days, or everyone just exps in outdoor zones these days

I was going to add Mez, or at least root. Charm is nice but doesn't make as much of a difference when there are multiple adds.

No need to mez when you can single pull everything :P

I'd say:

1) Complete heal, because the game's been designed around it
2) Revivisence, cause I doubt EQ would be as popular as it is if you couldn't get your XP back :P
3) I honestly don't know.. I wouldn't say slow, cause while slow is damn nice it's not the be all end all.

Notice the originator of this thread posted all cleric spells after slow. Hello tunnelvision.

1) Aego/Virtue
2) Slow and other debuffs
3) Haste and clarity line (Bard, ench, whatever)


Try holding aggro without haste. Buh bye cleric.

You don't need a rez if you don't die.

Default My guess

Thru popularity of which classes can use certain spells

1. Root - Cleric, Druid, Shaman, Wizard, Paladin, Ranger, Enchanter
2. Snare - Druids, Wizards, Rangers, Necros, Shadow Knights and Bards
3. Complete Heal - Cleric, Druid, Shaman
4. Port - Druid , Wizard, however thanks to PoP, this one shouldn't be on the list now but prior to it was or should have been at the high end of the list.

It really depends on the level, and location. In old school Guk I couldn't go 2 minutes without a group invite because I could snare. People just got exp back if there was no res around, etc.

Now, with the introduction of unmezzable mobs, and the changes to mod rods, I would have to say that Koadics (or the new C4), Feign Death (for sk), Root, and Revivisence are the biggest boons to success.

Interesting thread.
1. Rez
2. Cheal
3. Mez/Slow (tied for 3rd since both can have immune flagged mobs.)

PS: Slow mitigation sucks.
