Default I'm unfaithful and enjoying myself...

I have been unfaithful before...to EQ.

I played AC1, NwN, and AO and disliked them all.

AC1 was cheesy, NwN was just plain boring, and AO gave me a headache. Yeah, great detailed reviews.

I bought AC2 on Sunday. Driving home I was wondering if I wasted my money. After finding out that my TnT couldn't support the game, I wondered if I wasted my money. After buying a new card for $150, I asked myself that question once more.

Well, I don't believe I wasted my $50 for the game. The $150...well, I needed a new video card anyway.

So far, I've really enjoyed myself playing the game. I created a human character named "Martigan" on the Wintersebb server, and have been training him to be a healer/archery type guy. Last night I stumbled upon a dungeon out in the middle of nowhere and spent an hour fighting my way through a plethera of beetles. I can actually say I had a good time.

So...yeah I have been unfaithful to EQ. I have no apologies.

Anybody else playing the released version of the game?

Yea..played it for abit. Awesome graphics, game play good, skills good...I really like the melee skills/progression. The ablity to untrain skills is nice as well...helps w/you not hosing your character.

I'm back in EQ though due to friends AND AC2 just seemed to be missing something that EQ has. The content thing maybe? I prob just like the "Tolkienish" thing though.

I like the fact that one night I was in a dungeon with beetles, then I log in the next night and there are drudges in there. Level 12 drudges were up high on rocks shooting arrows at me and I died a couple times.

I then go exploring and search for the Vermin Nest dungeon (on the map), but never found it. Logged off on some large island.

The monsters aren't your typical D&D ones, but if you can get past that, you'll like the game.

AC2 is cool, but most of these other mmorpg's seem to miss the point that MORE RACES = GOOD. DAoC has addressed that with its new add-on, which brings their mix of races up to 7, I believe.
