Default Don't touch your PoP MP3's!

Silly me. I added tag information to 'em in Music Match Jukebox, which changed the size of the files. Well, guess what . . . the EQ Patcher suddenly saw them as invalid and decided to download fresh versions of all 24 MP3's! At 56K, this came to nearly 4 hours on the "time remaining" counter.

I quickly halted the patch process, went back into Music Match and deleted the tag info from the MP3's. A few of them must have still looked funny, because the patcher is still replacing them . . . but I'm down from a 4 hour download to a much more manageable 26 minutes.

The upshot is, you can't change these MP3's in any way. Bleh.

Well, duh. What I'm really thinking of are peeps who may want to put a completely different musical file in . . . like say, Gustav Holst's "Mars, The Bringer Of War," and rename it to Powar.mp3. It ain't gonna work.

I wonder if it would work on network and shared EQ directory.

Back up original.
Get in game past the patcher.
go to other cpu and copy in new tunes with the given names.
then zone in and check it out.

When done, just remember to copy the originals back.

As it is, I was just playing the MP3's from the dir on my other computer while my mule was selling in the bazaar.

I actually have different music than the PoP stuff atm. I havent had the chance to create a batch file to do it, so I'm still in manual mode, hehe.

Start EQ... do not check autoplay

Patcher goes through its file checks.... Play button appears

Have your (preselected) .mp3's in a folder ready to go, having already renamed them to the appropriate EQ .mp3 file... copy them to the EQ folder replacing the 'real' .mp3's. NOTE: Be sure to save the real ones in a safe place!

Click Play :-)

I would also imagine skipping the patch program with EQ window would work too.
