![]() Yeah ok this is really stupid but it's one of the trivial things that goes through my brain on a daily basis that I have questions to that have no answers... There are Beef Fajitas, Chicken Fajitas, even Shimp Fajitas but why aren't there Pork Fajitas? I mean fajitas are meat prepared the same way using the same seasonings, pretty much, cut into strips and eaten in a tortilla with sauteed onions and bell peppers and other nummy condiments. So why is pork left out of this? It's just as succulant a meat as the others. /sigh Oh well, brain pondering over. On to the next triviality... |

Pork isnt a big sell at fast food, due to religeous dietary restrictions, so most fast food restaurants avoid it in anything but breakfast foods. The only pork you will find at most fast food mexican restaurants is bacon bits. |

Even then, it's probably crushed brown packing styrofoam mixed with bacon essence and salt. |

Well I really thinking of fast food but more the sit down restaurant type places that serve Mexican/Tex-Mex food. It's been YEARS though since I have actually been out to eat, having kids kinda do that to you same with going out to the theatre, and last I saw there were no such things on the menus. I've never understood the ommision of pork products on menus, besides ham and sausage, though. Yeah I know there are some religions that don't eat pork but it's really no reason to avoid putting dishes containing it on the menu. Blew my mind the first time I actually saw pork on a menu, was at The Outback Steakhouse. Yeah I know it's a bit more tricky to prepare given there is no such thing as a "rare" chop but it's not like most places don't overcook the steaks they make anyhow right? And it's not like chicken doesn't need to be fully cooked as well. /shrug |

Taco's al Pastor!! Taco's al Pastor!! Mentioning pork and mexican food made me think of probably the best mexican food dish in the world. Served on small flour tortilla's, these are marinated, barbequed pork loin with pineapple on top...lots of spices and stuff. The best! Arnwolf Magnuson |

Hate to say it, but in my area there was a time that you could get Fajitas Asada, Carnitas, or Pollo at Taco Bell. Grilled and everything. Huge hood, big grill, chef visible to the public. Was an experiment that they didn't decide to keep, alas. Freshly made salsas too. I wish they'd have kept it. Theo |
