Meldrath's Majestic Mansion
Meldrath is a necro in Steamfont. Possibly going to have a Steamfont revamp?

From wikipedia
= = = = = =
Dragonscale Hill - is a barren area on the southeast tip of Faydwer. Very little is known about it.

Hills of Shade - refers to a hilly area east of the Butcherblock Mountains and north of the Lesser Faydark. Little is known about this area.

Loping Plains - are a flat area encircled by Ranthok's Ridge, south of the Lesser Faydark and east of Dagnor's Cauldron. Although never appearing in Everquest Live, they were described in detail in the Everquest D20 game manual and are featured as a playable zone in EverQuest II. The plains are populated by a gnollish clan inclined towards neutrality, with more of a coyote than wolfish appearance, that could run as fast as a horse. It was also populated by the evil burynai, which would make it the only place Burynai exist outside of Kunark.

A level cap increase already? Wow I thought it'd be a while longer with 75 being tops.

Isn't Kerafyrm already in the game?

What is the target date for realease (although they'll likely miss it)?

I believe the new expansion schedule has every expansion coming out in november starting with this one, and each one of the new expansions should have a lvl increase to it too

Inclusion of the Sleeper is equal to a desperate attempt to call old-time players of EQ (who have since moved to different games) and get them back under the lure of finally getting to fight and possibly kill one of the most legendary and rumor-bound monsters in the game.

It's actually a pretty brilliant move! Futile, but brilliant!

Sony plans to put out expansions only once per year now? Wow.

I think introducing a new Sleeper is no different than other mobs reintoduced such as Mayong. Inny and some other mobs have several variations. Doesn't lore say that Vox and Naggy are the parents of Kerafyrm? I wonder if we will see new encounters with them?

Level 80? So, can I have zone wide death touch now please?

Yes, Naggy and Vox got "jiggy with it" and created Kerafyrm.

If nothing else, I hope the Kerafyrm encounter is not a 1 time event like before.

Will be interesting if Kerafyrm walks through zones like the original was told about doing. (I have no first hand knowledge of this)

If it must be.. atleast make it a 1 time kill with ungodly drops.. and additional kills having drops not as good.

Doesn't a mini Mayong run around steamfont now? near the mino cave.. or am I thinking of a differnet Gnome Necro?

*edit* I disagree. A new Kerafyrm is different than other mobs they brought back and placed elsewhere. Killing Kerafyrm was intended to be a 1 time thing. Inny, or any other god/mob, was never under such intentions.

Mayong is not a gnome and he is currently the boss of the Demiplane of Blood.

The orginal Mayong Mistmoore appeared in Mistmoore Castle and he was an NPC allegedly played by a GM. The GM encounter was gone by the time I started playing EQ.

If I recall, it was two dragons of different color/(whatever it is) that got together and had kerafyrm.

Then Lady Vox and Nagafen thought about doing the same, and the elder dragons/someone said no.... and split them apart and made sure this didn't happen again.

Mayong, and some of the older dragons were used to seal kerafyrm I believe.

But my EQ lore is spotty at best. So I could be wrong.

Actually, killing Kerafyrm was NEVER intended. The fight wasn't intended to be won (there was no real loot on the actual 'kill' that happened when they merged the Zek's - and if he had been intended to have been killed, he would have had sloppy itemization at the very least...)

Haha, the first time he actually got killed (and only?) he had no loot. He is Vox and Naggys baby. And I can't wait, I wasn't playing at the time (damn aaedias is a computer hog), but I can remember when he was released by Magister. Can anyone say serious death everywhere? It was great, I was watching over aaed's shoulder as this dragon reaked havoc EVERYWHERE!

Kerafyrm was killed once before via healing aggro exploits, a euro guild did it IIRC. As a result they all got a soul mark and the guild was disbanded.

Wasn't it Conquest that did the exploit? By having people under the bridge where the warder couldn't hit them?

But yeah, putting Kerafyrm back in the game is pretty pathetic. They definitely aren't doing a very good job at getting the older folks back to the game with yet another level cap raise. I just about quit doing the grind to 75.

I remember when a GM was playing Mayong Mistmoore pre-kunark release event. A bunch of players trying to kill him while they tried to do some Role Playing. Next thing was seeing all the players get gravity fluxed & then dragon feared. Causing a very nice train in Mistmoore

Ahh, the memories...

They didn't kill Kerafyrm, they were killing one of the warders at the time I believe, as I recall, yes, it was Conquest, and the guild was disbanded, some folks, who already had a soulmark, were banned.

Aye, Sleeper was killed, by one of the last servers to awake em... I want to say one of the Zek servers, but my mind may be failing me.

I remember that fight; I was in PoK for most of the time working tradeskills and we kept getting OOC updates. Was several hundred folks there and a few dozen clerics (maybe more) doing nothing but clicking bodies - it was a major zergfest.

They did kill him (I keep thinking it was something like a 6-8 hour fight but could be wrong).

Heh, if you stop playing this game for a second, you fall so far behind it's not even worth trying to catch up.
