Default 'US soldiers abused young girl at Iraqi prison'

http://www.itv.com/news/623337.html
Suhaib al-Baz, a journalist for the al-Jazeera television network, claims to have been tortured at the prison, based west of Baghdad, while held there for 54 days.
That say's it all. Now everybody against the USA is going to start crying foul
and making shit up. Why? To turn Iraq into another veitnam through
the media. Exactly how they did it during Vietnam. Unpopular support
created by the media.

The allegations cannot be verified independently but Mr al-Baz maintains
psychological and physical violence were commonplace in the jail.
Of course they cannot be verified. It's propaganda.

"They were enjoying taking photographs of the torture. There was a
daily competition to see who could take the most gruesome picture.

"The winner's photo would be stuck on a wall and also put on their laptop
computers as a screensaver.
This is so ridiculous it's stupid. Talk about an over-active imagination.

And finally, here's the kicker from the propaganda machine.
US Defecse Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has taken responsibility for
the incidents and apologised to the victims, the Iraqi people and Americans.
Thats right. Americans are victims. Talk about playing to both sides.

Why do I bother. The thread has been derailed again by the liberals into another
never-ending WMD debate.

Whatever.

Yes, there is another plausible reason and I provided it above.

I answered the bit about why they would bar access above.

Yes, I noticed that you had qualified your remark with "presumably", but it appeared that you were assuming the truth of your statement. That is what prompted my question.

I guess reading comprehension > you Trith. Sure he used that stuff on the Kurds, sure he's an evil madman BUT you still don't seem to get the point about having to prove a negative.

Seems like that's your stock methodology these days, misquote someone with a witticism and flat out ignore the actual topic to make it look like you "won teh argument".

wildane, is that right?
then the USA is filled with lunies.

You might want to check the record from WW2 of Germans captured after
parachuting or uboating or rowboating into England.

Also happened in South Florida.

MI5 and the FBI gave the capture idividuals an ultimatim.
EITHER play ball with the USA and England, or be shot.

Just being sent to a POW camp wasnt an option.

Any german that refused was killed.

The English authorities also had the power to hang, draw and quarter or behead criminals at one time...

Times change, laws change.

As of August 1949, The Geneva Convention (III) pretty much prohibits what you describe, Chiteng.

Edit: And before the deluge of posts ranting that Iraq didn't care about the treatment of PoWs comes raining in. Remember that the coalition forces are supposed to adhere to this convention. The Iraqi's chose to ignore it. One reason why we are supposed to be better than them
