Default Why do we do this again?

Why do we post on this board again?

Ignoring flippant responces of course.

Chiteng, I think most people who post in Steam Vent want to share ideas. Obviously we all think our ideas are the best.

Also, we all have played EQ and that gives a sense of community. Why not share ideas amongst the members of the community?

Because we all operate under the delusions that:

1) We have something intelligent to say. (Some of us actually do ).

2) We all think we can convince someone else to open their mind up a bit - which usually can be interpreted as "they agree with my opinion." All those who don't agree, of course, have closed minds.

3) We are bored at work and this pisses us off just enough to keep us interested. Its like being part of a reality TV show without having to eat the roaches.

4. It reinforces our sense of superiority of intellect and morals over all the other sad misguided morons out there and because all those who don't agree with us are considered morons, we also feel it necessary to tell them exactly how, why, and where they are in fact being moronic!

5. We have to run around being politically correct all of the time in Real Life and on this board we don't. OOOOOOO how tempting is that??

6. It probably makes each and every one of us shake our head and say "Gee, Thank God I am Me and not this arsehole XXX over there... which really is not a good thing to be honest, but I bet that it does happen. Joo Pharisees joo!

Have a Nice day !

Well Lurikeen =) This 'community'
would have burned me at the stake =)
Yet not one player can say they have ever been harmed by me.

But I suppose you are correct.

That would be a waste of a perfectly good bonfire, drawn and quartered would be the only way to go with you Chit . In all honesty, 90% of the postings on this particular forum are quite interesting and contain excellent debates. I can see the draw to it.

Lukaria's 1, 3, 4, and 6. Especially 3- I don't even want to think of all the hours I've been paid (with US tax dollars too, since I'm paid from a federal grant ) to post here.

Fanon beat me to the punch with that PA comic.

Really, though, Lukaria sums it up nicely. At times it's a place to find the occasional rational debate amidst the endless personal attacks and ignorance. The bad part is you have to sift through all the BS to find anything worth responding to.
