Hitler was a paranoid megalomaniac and wanted nothing but to conquer the world. How does diplomacy work when faced with this sort of fiend? It DOESN'T, and that's when we have no alternative to war.

The radical Muslims in the Middle East call the US "The Great Satan" and want us destroyed. How does diplomacy work there? It DOESN'T.

Nice try, but Saddam Hussein is secular.

I think the anti-war folks fail to realize just how true this is. While we sat around minding our own business here in the US before 9/11, the radical muslims from the Middle East were plotting and planning how to attack us for no other reason than we were the US and they want to see us dead. If a person thinks the terrorist group that attacked us on 9/11 are the only ones with that mentality, they are sadly mistaken.

Nice try, but Saddam Hussein supported terrorism. We've linked you where he had ties to the radical muslems that attacked us. We've linked you documents proving they were in Iraq for meetings and on what dates. You can continue with your state of denial, but it doesn't change a thing.

When I think of 9/11, one of the things that sends chills up my spine is the reaction of the general public in the Middle East. . .it looked like New Year's Day in Times Suqare.

Here's just a few links that tie Saddam to terrorism and terrorism targeted at the US.

Damn...

This was in response to the revealing of Nightline's dedication to our troops (they were going to read out each soldier's name, show a picture, and other things I can't remember)

Freedom of Speech, at its finest...

Though Im tolerant of words, I think I would have to become wrathful if I saw someone pissing on their grave.

That's the beauty of internet anonymity I guess- everyone gets to talk tough. I may not support this war, and I don't buy into the idea of the US Soldier as hero by definition, but those people quoted are *way* out of line. Most people who would post such things on a yahoo msg board would never have the stones to act on their bravado. Which is just as well.

Once again, you bring up specific examples to try and rationalize a generalization.

Hitler was a paranoid megalomaniac and wanted nothing but to conquer the world. How does diplomacy work when faced with this sort of fiend? It DOESN'T, and that's when we have no alternative to war.
I did not say there is never a time when we must go to war. But:

In the absence of a conditional statement [sometimes/usually/mostly], I take this to mean that war is always preferable to the alternative. Thus, invade first ask questions later. Frankly, unless you're a bloodthirsty psychopathic who enjoys watching people die, I don't think you honestly believe this. I could be wrong.

Try not to make such blanket generalizations without considering what it is you're saying. Inmountains, you are the one, if I recall correctly, who waved around his IQ to try and prove he was smarter than everyone else. In that case you should know better, and communicate in a manner that doesn't misrepresent yourself.

Boasting about one's IQ usually means crap, as well as trying to prove to everyone that you have that high IQ (let's just use the example of vocabulary/language skills). Using higher vocabulary will leave average joe thinking "WTF did he/she just say?!" and you'll have a harder time trying to get your point across, you have to water it down for some people.

The only times I actually try sounding "smart" are in my papers, half of the time I need to simplify a word 3x for my friends or play thesaurus when they listening to someone else speak.
