http://www.nytimes.com/2004/04/02/po...W3RrU9kiwS1ngA

Why is Bush trying to block Clinton's papers form the 9/11 panel?
Hmmm, this Bush guy has been trying to keep this from something getting out.

Basically it says that Bush's team is trying to block the 9/11 commission from getting Clinton's administrations papers. MAkes no sense to me.

Broken for me too.

I thought they already had the papers, and doesn't Clinton get the final say?

That is correct Max. Bush has no legal precedence to keep Clinton's papers from getting to the 9/11 commission. The story had broken earlier today that Clinton and Gore were releasing all of the papers that the commission asked them for. For some reason Bush is trying to block these. It can't be because of executive privelege because that just is not relevent to Bush in this case.
So I ask- why is Bush trying to block the 9/11 commission from getting All of Clinton's papers. Clinton apparently has nothing to hide. Perhaps something scares Bush about this.

Here this was taken from the Associated Press

The Associated Press article doesn't say anything about Bush trying to block it.

I can't read the link either, but who knows? If the Bush administration is indeed trying to block something, it may very well be that the Bush Administration feels it contains some top secret information in it.

/shrug.

Don't read more into it than is there.

Not if it has already been released. There is something that incriminates them. In fact there are news reports out today about exactly how much Bush had done prior to 9/11. As little Bum has been telling you all along- he was interested in Missile Defense. Great Cold Warrior was he- another conservative living in the past.

"It may be a case where there may be duplicates," said Felzenberg.

"We could have requested more than was required.

"Right now, they're taking inventory, which should take about a day-and-a-half to figure out what they have and don't have," he said.

White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan said the White House "continues to cooperate with the 9/11 commission."

What do you just make this stuff up Bumble? Even the 9/11 commission has stated that it may be a mistake, they are not accusing Bush of covering up. You, like Kerry, lose your credibility when you keep trying to accuse the Bush admin of stuff that isn't true.

Lol was that the article bumble was talking about? There is nothing even remotely in there to hint at Bush trying to hide files. Why would he give a shit about Clinton's records?

Found more info on this

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...-2004Apr2.html

The Bush administration agreed yesterday to let the commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks review about 9,000 pages of documents from the Clinton archives, which the White House had earlier refused to release, despite the conclusion of federal researchers that they were relevant to the panel's work.
And the reason why.

The latest flap erupted this week after Clinton attorney Bruce R. Lindsey disclosed that about three-quarters of the nearly 11,000 pages of Clinton papers intended for the Sept. 11 commission had not been turned over to the panel by the White House. Bush administration officials said the documents that were withheld were either duplicates or "nonresponsive" to the specific requests made in writing by the commission.
