Question Weather: huh? But it rained yesterday!!!!

Weather, ya live to experience it, maybe not as much some weather as other types but you get what ya can. Wowee teh dry continent has shed some drops, on Melbourne, it sprinkled briefly from above even now when I wrote. I can remember it sort of rained, almost heavily, just yesterday a coupla hours. Yup, fine sunny weather all Summer. Whut a drag.

How rare to spot a Cumulo Nimbus in daylight, shall any speculate what the humidity will bring?
The neighbors vegie patch no doubt would have been thrilled, if anything planted in it had lived.

Brought to you from the suburbs, in a far away land...

If it helps you Hormadrune, Melbourne has some of the most weirdly unpredictable weather on Earth. I remember a joke forecast that went something like "morning blizzards followed by noon heatwaves with the chance of an evening cyclone; horizontal rain guaranteed."

Coming from the Northeast US we get our fair share of bizarre weather patterns also (Early spring blizzards, mid-winter 60 degree days etc...).

The puzzlement was for the placement of the post.

Again,

Yup, Ulujain got it straight. For the confused, sorry but I didn't see the 'political pissing match' sign over this board. Weather may be a boring read, no doubt too much of a thing will breed contempt, as the old saying goes... it aint gunna take pages and pages of space.

The strangest twist is Melburnians have water restrictions clear thru all of April - it was announced over the telly on tonight's news. April is the last month of Autumn, I think. Water restrictions have now been up since before last Winter. We had a long Summer last year.

Been pretty dry, last Spring was a disappointment. This Winter may well be another dry one.

Coldest Melbourne weather is wind assisted off the Southern Ocean, preferably straight from the Antarctic, chilly air sprinkled with rain or hail. This stuff has to sweep in from the South SouthWest because we have Bass Strait and Tassie directly south. Those steal all teh freak storms.

A perfect cold rainy day is very possible right on winter solstice.

Fingers crossed cold air will hit mainland Oz for mega precip. Heh, and when it does rain, it pours... and pours... and floods umm.

Victorian water catchments are low on reserves.

I got Cumulonimbus once when I went to Mardi Gras...I had to take Anti-biotics for a month before the burning finally went away.
