Default Donations are now possible

I've just added the option in the User CP that allows those who are interested in contributing to the community to be able to. What you get back for it?
  • You can change your custom title in the User CP (yay!) or else listed as 'Supporter'
  • You can upload an Avatar
  • You can upload a Profile Picture
  • You can use an image in your signature
  • You can post polls in each forum
  • You can upload attachments
  • You can store 500 Private Messages (can be put higher if needed)

In the future, when funds and/or time allows us to, we possibly could add these features too (however, these may change!):
  • Your own private gallery for screenshots & photos
  • Your own @erollisimarr.com email address for web based email
  • CGI IRC chat for those who want to chat with friends while being at work but can't because of a firewall blocking the ports
Or suggest a feature.

What not to expect: being a supporter won't give you a wildcard or anything like that. You will be treated like everyone else, meaning that our forum rules still apply.

If you're looking to donate: click here

For obvious reasons I haven't been able to test this much so if anyone is running into trouble, let me know.

Thanks for the support guys. I will put some time into adding an extra little thing to the forums very soon. I won't spoil what it is yet, but it's related to gaming This will be available to every member, by the way. This will always be the case unless it's too easy exploitable, or when it requires much moderation or bandwidth. Bandwidth right now isn't an issue because we have our own dedicated server with about 600GB per month to use.

Hey is there another way to donate besides using PayPal? I don't trust them at all and maybe I could mail you a check or something?

Me either...had a friend who has lost over $500 to Paypal's irresponsibility and they're trying to collect more from her. I refuse to use them.

...you don't by any chance accept plat, do you? :P

Right now there isn't an alternative but if either of you have better experience with any of these companies, I can try to set it up too:
  • NOCHEX
  • WorldPay
  • Authorize.Net

How about yowcow.com? It's a similar service to paypal but (supposedly) without all the problems. I haven't ever used it but have heard good things about it. From what I have heard, I would not have a problem using it (and it doesn't require peeps to sign up for an account, I don't think).

Hmm, I'll check on vbulletin.com if there's a script compatible with that service.

Nope, haven't used any of those. But if any of them are reliable I might consider it.

I'd donate to support... but NONE of those services would work for me -- no credit card LOL

Any thoughts on adding a no credit card support option Ogmuk? I know the moderator of VPForums (my husband's pinball forum) has some way to do donations without a credit card, because my hubby regularly donates there LOL -- want me to have him ask how AJ set that up?

Yeah we're pathetic... we donated so much to VPForums, they actually gave us our own pop3 email accounts LOL

Hmm, I just looked at their forum and I can only find a PayPal donation button. But of course they could allow donation through normal mail. I'm not sure.

Yowcow allows you to send money from your bank account as well as from a credit card.

I've been trying to access my YowCow account but this "Turing number" field is empty, except for a few weird colored spots, but no numbers like I assumed the field should work.

Ok, I had been thinking of donating for quite awhile now since I've been around here long enough and you do a great job. Adding the games pushed me over the edge and I did it.

Thanks for all the great work you guys do with the board!

Now to resist playing the games when at work so I don't get the boards blocked from there

There are companies that will open a P.O. box for you that doesn't cost
much more then the regular Post office. There are also companies who will
do the same and foward the mail to any address you want Anonymously.
so long as it's 'legit. <-obviously

I can't recommend any since I've not used any in years.
They're out there though. Good luck.

I was just wondering if the amount donated effects the number of features one will receive? Like if I donate $100 or more will Ogmuk come and wash my car?
