Default Server Crashes

For the past week or so I noticed that at least 4 servers a day are crashing, some leading to rollback (Prexus had a 24 hour roll back last week from one)

GMs say it is the players fault because our machines & ISPs are are not up to par (how this effects THEIR server crahsing I have no idea)

Tech/CSRs say it was not out of the ordinary, the servers ARE NOT crashing more often (right and Hell has Frosty the Snowman living comfortably) but, that it is peoples perception because they log on more during the summer.

Is it really getting worse?

I play on several different servers, and 98% of the GMs I've come across and/or dealt with are useless and worthless. They'll tell you anything to shut your trap up, unfortunately.

As for the statement about OUR pc's and isp's not being up to par, that is a bunch of horse s-h-i-a-t.

But yes, I've seemed to notice after the last few patches the servers have been going down quite a bit.

Hail,

I kept expecting our server to crash last night (it did this morning).
Almost 200 people in BoT, and mid 160's for several hours straight. I can't imagine they stress-tested the zone for that on Test. Aside from a few HORRID lag spikes during the Agnarr script, it actually held up quite well I thought.

I haven't noticed the crashes to be all that more frequent than before. But then again, 3-4 crashes a week was the norm for awhile...

Take care,

Servers were crashing due to a bug in the shared bank code. supposedly this is fixed.

I do, especially when we've put a lot of time and energy into clearing NToV in a short time frame to ensure that the next spawn will be nice and orderly, only to have the server reset right before we engage Lady Nev to finish our clearing, causing us to log back in to insta death since all the "trash" mobs respawned.

Kudo's to SOE for responding to petitions quickly and sending in no less than 3 GM/Guides to move all our corpses to the zone-in and GM rez us, + Froglok illusion the whole guild afterwords for a nice screenshot.

Of course, on the up side, these crashes have allowed CoI to clear NToV 5 (?) times in two weeks, instead of the usual 2 times.

So yeah, Natura, the more often they reset, the faster CoI will get out of NToV and the sooner you'll get a shot at it again,

I was going to just use the "rolleyes" emote but it doesn't really do justice to this statement. There needs to be a "omfg what a tard" emote.

Does anyone kill Dozekar or run Vulak script anymore? those 2 monsters had the best loot and if the zone came down 5 times, thats a lot of nice items indeed.

A relatively small mixed-forces raid took out Doze and crawled the other HoT named on Saturday while CoI was clearing NToV.

From what I've seen, Doze is killed nearly every spawn cycle.

No one has attempted Vulak in the last month, as far as I know.

Actually, Chuk was asking specifically about Doze, not crawling HoT.

If you are on CoV faction, Doze and HoT named mobs drop quest items that can be turned in to LTK for items that are comperable to (and in some cases better than) NToV drops.

In my experience, many guilds end up doing Doze/HoT named post-NToV, once they've had a chance to work CoV faction back up.
