If by idiocy you mean "being absolutely, undeniably correct," then yes!

Lets see, how about we take away the first half points against the Jets in the first game of the season (since this is where this so called big advantage was being administered supposedly) the Pats still win convincingly.

I do love it though, I remember hating the niners for the same reason way back when they were good......... everyone hates a dominant winner, everyone (unless their team is the winner) is going for the underdog.........
My buddies ask me, don't you get sick of the Patriots winning (the superbowl) HELL NO, if they win for the next 20 years Id love every single game.

The question is, how much would you love watching/supporting them if they lost every game for the next 20 years?

Pfft, if you've ever lived in Chicago, you'd view a 20 year losing streak as a momentary setback (well, except for the Bulls during the Jordan era. Hmm...am I redefining the word "era"?)

No, that's a proper use of the word. Carry on.

As a side note, USC is the BEST College Football Team in the country right now!

I'd like to refer to it as the "Phil Jackson" era.

And you base this off what? Beating Illinois? You cant lose to Stanford at home and be in that conversation. EVER.

You forget that the statement refers to the best team "right now."

I also base this off of what many people, including notable Sports writers, are saying:

"The last thing I'd want to do is sit up here and lobby for some recognition for our season," Carroll said. "We did everything we could with what we had."

Carroll didn't need to lobby. His team's performance in the Rose Bowl presented by Citi said more than enough. What the Trojans' domination of the Illini showed was that USC has a lot more than everyone else when it has everything at its disposal.

The No. 7 Trojans are better than both No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 LSU, which will play for the BCS championship Monday night in the Louisiana Superdome.

What is this right now crap? To paraphrase Dennis Green, they are who we thought they were. They beat Illinios and some depleted Pac 10 teams since the loss to Stanford. Not exactly the Patriots.

Based on the bowl games so far, I was most impressed by West Virgnia (yes I remember Pitt). A good win against a good team. Not many bowl games have featured that kind of outcome this year. Kansas was pretty impressive too, but I was never sold on VT to start with. I am not even sure they have an offense.

It is what it is, Shard. The best team "right now."

That's all that the statement declared, and I agree.

Can I say that USC was the best team after losing to Stanford? Nope.

The rankings change from week to week in college football, Shard.

It just furthers the need for a playoff system. Playoffs determine who the best team is at the end of the season, when it most counts.

The computer rankings and bullshit BCS politics just get in the way, in my opinion.

They have a play off. Win every week and you are in.

Except that's not how it works, Shard.

Case in point:
