meh.

The Earth's been around a long time.

I don't think it would miss us, or stop itself from warming.

Its kinda funny that those who will say a 4 month old baby isnt a life, are the loudest to say we need to save the planet for future generations..

I say the earth is ours to do with what we want... torch the earth and make mars our bitch..

Who says a 4 month old baby isn't life? Once a baby is born, it's definitely alive!

Oh, you mean that clump of tissue in there. If there's higher brain function, it's a person(My opinion). Otherwise, it's a clump of cells.

But nice use of rhetoric to try and put forth your point! What's next? JPGs of babys with horrible wounds that you're going to tell us are aborted fetuses? (Note: I've seen panel trucks driving around with this very thing on them, so don't try and play like it doesn't happen)

Not any more funny than someone saying that the few cells are life and therefore have value... yet don't value the life of entire ecosystems, preferring to look at profitability instead.

Personally, I don't cosider it life yet... I think it is wrong to not respect the potential for life, and to abort as birth control.

I also think it is wrong not to respect other life on the planet. That doesn't mean you have to make your life evolve around saving ants... but you shouldn't blithely ignore consequences of your actions, just because they might not directly affect you.

The world is God's creation, and therefor deserves respect, imo. It is the most complicated construct in existance. It is part of an even greater construct. I think that is wonderous and deserves respect.

By the way... Who cares if it's considered "life" or not? The Cow i ate for lunch yesterday was also considered "life" and got happily broiled for my amusement.

Yeah but when was the last time you ate a 4-month old human fetus?

So only human life has value? What value simply because it is human? I can shoot a human or dog who attacks me. Which is the greater tragedy? Neither I think.

Just because you aren't cannibal (hopefully), doesn't mean that human life is automatically more important. If a human was cruel, I would kill him to protect my animal!

I think all life is valuable, but at some point you've got to put your own needs first. If plants and animals are all alive and should be respected, what are we supposed to eat? A bunch of genetically modified, created in a lab, chemical crap that's bad for us?

Reminds me of the shirts that employees at Rudy's BBQ wear.

The broader view would probably be something as follows: 'if you value human life, don't run the ecosystem as a marketable resource worth more dead than alive. Who's gunna spend all that 'profit?' when everyone and everything else dies with it?"
