Default Pop Up Help Pls

I get pop ups even when not running IE. I have spybot which i have used to clear uot everything but the problem keeps recurring. If you have any suggestions i would be very grateful!

Now this I can help you with. Go to Downloads.com. Look for pop-up blockers. I use both the Cosmo pop-up blocker and Updated pop up blockers,but I have a pop up problem. Just look for any of the free pop-up blockers. That should help the problem.

I have found that this online scan picks up a few things that even Spybot misses, hope it helps.

you have a windows messenger pop up.

To stop them, go to Administrative tools (2000/2003/xp) and open up Services. Locate the Service named Messenger and stop it, then disable it. This is NOT the MSN Messenger application but a network based messaging system that allows people to do a "Net Send .....". If you don't have an Administrative Tools section, look in control panel for the Services link and do the same thing.
