My point is taht on any issue where there are two sides.... each side will push for their mindset to be taught.

Absitenence is taught, and it does work for some kids. Some. What do you propose to do about the kids taht are going to be having sex? Ignore the problem? It won't go away simply by ignoring it.

And by giving a drug addict or alcoholic money to buy his drug of choice is helping him? for that matter how is it helping society?

That is true there are two sides. Does that mean everyone pushing for their mindset is right?

Of course. Unless none of us actually believe what we are saying they should do....which I suppose would be possible.

The thread is about the lesser of two evils. We prefer underage adults not have sex but if they do have sex let's not have honest paying taxpayers pay for their mistakes.

If it all depends on faction then I can think of many more sides than three.

I think some are wrong. I don't know hoiw you got "all sides are right" from what I said. I am sure it is fair to say that each side believes they are right. That is why I think it best to use logical arguments with quantifiable consequences when making social policies, rather that irrational arguments based on speculations Sometimes I argue for the side I don't personally believe in on a particular issue, because I do beleive in the overall fairness of that side.

Taht is why I am not on the religious side of social policy making. I believe in many cases that the religious side is the correct choice, but I also believe that social policies should not be based on arbitrary beliefs, because in the long run that causes injustices. I think we should do what is best for society in the long run, creates fair practices, and promotes freedoms and justice. I don't believe that it's my personal mission to force everyone to live and believe what I do. If I did, I would probably love the current admin. I also don't rcall Jesus running for politcial office or lobbying for governmental change. Why? His was the Kingdom of Heaven, not Earth. He made it clear why religion and politics don't need to mix. You will recall it was the religious leaders of the day that had such spite for Jesus. I think that is a good lesson to learn. While the Roman officials wanted to spare Jesus, it was the religious leaders that condemned him. Let's keep religion out of government. It leads to intolerances that could undermine even that which it is supposed to preserve. They are two different systems, and imo should remain that way.

I said,

"So, you don't think anyone is wrong, EC? All mindsets are right?"

You responded to that...

"Of course. Unless none of us actually believe..."

The "Of course" reads to me as a "yes" to my questions. "Yes, I don't think anyone is wrong. Yes, all mindsets are right".
