Default Need help

If anyone has the time to explain how I make a link to look at my inventory, I would be grateful. I went to the Magelo site, registered, and that's about it so far. Do I need to be on EQ to do this or the site? Help!

Thanks in advance!

Tehre are two ways to do it manually.

1) Create your character in Magelo

2) Download their program (forget what it's called), run it, then launch EQ. Each character you log in as will have their info parsed by this program. Then, you cna either go to the website and iput this info manually, or you can pay their membership price, and have the program upload it for you.

Sorry for being brief. There website was down, so I couldn't give you a step by step walkthrough.

The tool doesn't always work well.
Once you created your login click on "Characters" on the left side, and start adding your info. Most people pretty much know what they have as far as equipment, so click on "Manage his/her equiment" and go from there. There are several links for inventory .. etc. Then make sure when you are done to click on Save.

Hey Faiith,

Contact any CI member in game for someone to guide you through making a Magelo profile. We can even create it for you if you like, and let you manage it on an ongoing basis.

Can someone explain to me how the program parses what armour you are wearing.

Parsing implies retrieving the information by searchign text files but to the best of my knowledge no file in EQ nor the logs have information on the armour you are wearing.

Is it in fact packet sniffing?

It extracts the item IDs from EQs memory space

Since a character is all database info with fields, wouldn't it just correlate field id with item?

I wasnt aware that information was kept client side.

Seems to me that if it were somebody would find a way to change that information.

It's kept client-side while EQ is running, so that for instance when you open your inventory you don't have to wait while all your equipment IDs are downloaded.
The persistent storage is done server-side though, and this means that although you could alter item IDs in memory while playing, it would be easily detectable.
