Maybe a bit on the extreme side, but when your product actually kills a customer due to "cutting corners", "poor design", "poor manufacturing", etc..., why not be charges with homicide?

Tell me why the charges should be homocide, Im not a shit happens type of person when people die but homocide is a bit over done in a case like that, MAYBE in certain situations a different charge but nothing that is going to ruin a persons life because of a mistake.

the one that sold the toys.

what i dont understand is. if theoretically, that the person responsible kills himself and what not.

why the hell didn't the paint suppler kill himself instead? unless of course the toy maker knew there was too much lead in the paint and sent them all out anyways.

which wouldn't surprise me at all.

Oh and we all know china has no qualms about knocking off their own people. tins foil says it was staged.

It's harder for those of us from the West to understand the actions of those from the East, because we rarely stand up and take responsibility for our actions. It's far easier to point our fingers down the road to shift the blame to someone else. To me, and I'm sure to many here, the blame obviously lies with the paint supplier for distributing deadly paint.

But the toy supplier saw it differently. His company should have done better testing on the paint and if they had, they would have found the problem before the toys were distributed and this whole thing became a media frenzy. He took responsibility and paid the ultimate penance for it, as his culture dictates. /shrug

Sucks if he has family though, because they will share the guilt. Not legally mind you, just their own morality. When he off'ed himself, it was the same as saying, "Yep, I did it. Buck stops here." That sort of thing destroys families over there.

And of course, just my 2cp.

This subprime loan thing would be a lot more interesting if the hedge fund managers would off themselves in shame. Maybe they could pilot their 150 ft yatches over Niagara Falls. Would make some great YouTube videos.

All I know is I have a midsized tupperware container full of Dora toys from my 2 kids that I have to return.

Thank goodness Grandma and Grandpa took them to the park today, or else they'd be heartbroken.

"Why are you taking my Diego Rescue Center?"
"There was a recall, sweetie. The company that makes these toys put something in them that might make you sick."
"Am I going to have pukes again?"
"I don't know, are you going to try to drink that mickey of rum I hid under my bed?"

They're giving people a voucher for this stuff - which is okay, I suppose. I get annoyed for the fact that it's a fraction of what the item originally cost, in some cases.

AFAIK, they haven't crammed them in their mouths the way Davek would stuff a shrunken warted twenty year old wiener in his...okay, never mind. /shudder

My oldest daughter (4 years old) plays with her Dora stuff every day when she goes for her quiet time after lunch. She's going to miss it when she goes up and its not there...actually, she probably won't. Who am I kidding, she's got more toys than Imelda Marcos had shoes!

It usually takes 80 years for a guy to get his cock like that. I guess you're special that way. I enjoyed you even though you're a bit young for me.

I'm not saying "American" Craftsmanship is the best in the world, but you get what you hardly pay for, you outsource to try and shave money off production you dont think the company youre outsourcing to is doing the same exact thing

The children in this matter suffer and the companies that find the problem think theyre doing such a "big" service in re-calling items after there have been a few "accidents" a child sucks on a lead-based paint, a few children swallow a magnet here..

Outsourcing should be banned..IMO

Did i say i hate outsourcing ?

Hedge funds do not issue subprime loans. Banks issue subprime loans. And dumb people take loans which have risks they do not consider.

Some hedge funds provide liquidity to the subprime market in one form or another. And some funds made bets that the subprime market will be in trouble (as it has been). And some funds are now providing even more liquidity to bail out subprime lenders (with the reasoning that things will turn around and they are buying at a discount).

So please, continue to enlighten us all on why hedge fund managers should "off themselves in shame" in relation to this topic.

Nah, don't bother. Just spout off more buzz words that you don't understand.

LOL - wow - first, have you been living under a rock these past few weeks? Haven't you head of the two Bear Sterns Credit Strategies Funds? Investments to bonds linked to subprime mortagages? Lost 97 cents on the dollar, as I recall (i.e. they started w/ $20 billion, and wound up with, well, nothing. In investment terms, we call that "bad")

Second, have you considered that perhaps I wasn't serious when I suggested someone steer a 150 yatch over Niagara falls?

Or are you just pretending to have missed all this, and I'm just missing your joke? Oh well.
