Default Comments about Phantom Wind series

How has the phantom wind series affected your ability to do your job? Has it made life more simple? Has it just been sitting there because you keep forgetting about it and do it old school instead?

Personally, I'm still getting used to the idea that I can actually single-target lull. Makes me downright lazy about the FD split when I can just lull the potential add. Of course, if there's more than two, wer're still going to have to show our stuff, but I've definatly seen use for it in LDoN quite often. Espically with those people who group with me alot, I find myself being puller again instead of some bard or a pally. Way I figure, even if I screw up a pull, I can hit FD and (assuming you time it right against the incomming spells, or have the new nifty GoD ability) get them to go away. Or at least not train my group.

It's got less utility outdoors, but I never had much of a problem pulling there anyways, where there was space to FD split and no time limit. Heck, if nothing else stay feigned until they forget about you then get back up and try again (assuming they aren't camping your 'corpse'). Sure it's time, but it's less time than a wiped party would take to get re-buffed and set back into position.

Some in the monkely-business website called it a poor bone to throw at us, but I am finding it's handy in situations where I used to have problems.

Just remember, the success rate of feign death is equal to the inverse of the need multiplied by the total of the levels of all the mobs you are attempting to feign off.

success rate = 1/need*(level of mob1+level of mob2+...)

Stonewall is a new GoD AA that increases your chance to stay FD despite being hit by a spell.

I use and like Phantom Call. It saves a fair amount of time on raids, and is quite handy in LDoN pulling. There is still some strategy involved with pulling, this just changes things in some situations.

My two (fairly minor) complaints about Phantom Call are: 1) there are some raid areas (such as leading up to any of the Zeks) where it's pointless due to level and/or spacing of the mobs, and 2) there are areas where the mobs are chasing you before you even get into range for it (SolRo comes to mind).

If you spam press your Phantom Call key while running to the guard duos in Sol Ro, you can lull one before it aggros you.

I could, but it's usually less aggravating to just FD split 'em.

Phantom shadow with its longer range is pretty useful.
Although its all pretty much irrelevant when you look at GoD...level limit prevents it being used on 50% of mobs and the rest are flagged lull immune...go go OT crew!

Heh, SOE gives us this really handy tool for pulling, and then makes it practically useless for high-end encounters. Go figure.

Slight tangent, is Phantom Shadow bought or dropped, and where?

It's the reward for turning in a Jelki Rune that drops off named in KT, Ikkinz, and higher.
