TV dinner is too much work, how about some Ramen noodles and a beer?

Welcome back.

Lots of cool stuff!! Mostly I learned plating design... how to present food on a plate... and my execution times increased (no, not that type of "execution"!). It was all so awesome!

SIGH... asshats.

You FINISH your steak in an oven because it's about as close to resturant finished as you can get. It makes for a nice tender steak. If you don't have the resources for a grilled steak, try oven-finished in an iron skillet. It's delicious, and usually very juicy and tender.

Remember, Luriass, not everyone can grill. No apartment in my city can use a grill due to city code.

Presentation is my biggest weakness in cooking. I'd love to take a class on that.

Wait, you actually let the food touch the plate? I was surprised to learn that you occasionally chew.

You been having meals with Axgar again?

So, if all your food was run through a blender, you'd be fine with that?

I ahve always known it to be the othe rway around.

You can cook ribs or steak in the oven (preferably covered, so it doesn't dry out). Then you finish them on a grill.

That way you can keep the steak/ribs tender and oven baking in a special sauce (ribs), and then yank em out and toss em on the grill to finish them off and get those great grill marks. It also toughens the skin a bit, so they don't ust fall apart and kind of caramalizes the sauce. (ribs)

Running food through the blender would change the texture and consistency of the food, which would affect more than just the look.

Actually, for ribs, I was always told that you boil them until they change color, then marinade them before throwing them on the grill.

If you have your meat at room temperature before putting it on the grill and cook it at low heat for longer, it'll be plenty tender.

I have heard of that way, too. Lots of different ways to cook the meat. Yummy, now I am getting hungry!

Ok, say a plate of steak(since it's a popular discussion on here), fries and mixed veggies...toss em all together...hell toss the salad in there too (/snicker)
