Default Check this out

Don't do anything like that again. A lot of people read this board from work.

That wasn't at all funny. I'm just glad I didn't have work going on when I clicked that and wound up having to reboot. If anyone scrolls down and reads this before clicking the link, close anything important beforehand.

Excuse me Sayre, could you explain what you're talking about?

This link only causes a few windows to open which says the harmless phrase "Sucks heh." I tested it out before I posted the link here and it crashed Nothing.

I would never post anything that would mess up someone's computer or cause potential damage.

And another thing, where do people get off using the excuse that they are at work and such things could get them in trouble. If you aren't supposed to be on the internet then you're in trouble anyways. Why don't you do some work instead of browsing the web.

A few? Sorry, but on my computer everytime I tried to close a window, it'd pop up 3 more of those damn dancing windows. I couldn't ctrl-alt-del out of it, either. After I closed the first dancing window, 3 more smaller ones popped. Then when I tried to close those, 3 more would pop with each window closed. When I tried to play with ctrl-alt-del to shut those fuckers off, my taskbar ended up filled to high hell. It got to the point where I had to shut down and reboot. It's too bad I didn't have Pop-Up Stopper up so my computer could shit itself trying to block all those instances of IE from popping up.

It didn't crash anything but I ended up with about 20 instances of IE open before I had to shut down.

I'm not sure if what happened to me and Sayre were fluke events since both our computers are exactly the same and we're both still using IE 5, but it was a pain in the ass to deal with.

About that work comment, I'll neither agree nor disagree with you on that topic. I think it's basic civil behavior and exercising general courtesy when we look out for our neighbors, and in the case of an online forum, our 'neighbors' may or may not be those people who may be at work and browsing the web in their spare time. What they do or don't do isn't my business, but it's not my business to fuck them over, however intentional or unintentional it may have been. I think that's the point Nuldar was getting to.

Sorry that your link got editted out and the content didn't turn out as intended (at least for 2 people), but I'm sure you didn't mean any harm. Perhaps it's our computers, perhaps it's our version of IE, but things really did get hairy once that link was clicked.

Lalalala...browsers that suppress scripted popups > j00

If I suspect something is going to create "child windows" I'll have no hesitation in firing Opera or Mozilla up. Opera especially has a very small memory footprint and is actually quite a decent browser. Just something to keep in mind.

Read somewhere on the net that those 2 programs are used for that same purpose by people who constantly surf the net for porn.

How's your wrist Uj?

As far as the work thing is concerned, it doesn't have to do with them getting in trouble for being on the internet, it had to do with if they had a document open and didn't get a chance to save it before rebooting because of that fucked up link.
