Default [Crime & Punishment] Sexual assault.

I read these boards nearly everyday at work. We seem to have the same debates ad nauseam: liberal vs conservative, gays & guns.

Graffe.com has a pretty good OT section where they discuss other relevant news.

I'm stealing an article that caused quite a stir there to see what the Emarr Debate team thinks.

What is the fitting punishment?

http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/03/02/y...m.ap/index.html

Quote:
SACRAMENTO, California (AP) -- A man was being held without bond on federal child pornography charges after agents on Monday said they seized images from his home showing him performing sex acts on a 2-month-old girl.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents said the girl is one of the youngest sexual assault victims they have ever encountered.

The suspect was arrested at his home Thursday after the agents said they found explicit video images showing him engaging in sex acts with the infant, who is now 8 months old.

The suspect is alleged to have distributed the images over the Internet, where they were recovered during a child pornography investigation in Detroit. The agents said they traced the images to his e-mail.

Authorities raided his El Dorado Hills home and seized computer equipment, a digital camera, and infant's clothing and bedding.

Larry M. Jeffs, 41, remains in the Sacramento County Jail, charged with producing and distributing child pornography. If convicted, he faces a maximum 50 years in prison.

The continuing Detroit investigation is part of the government's Operation Predator, which targets child sexual predators worldwide, including subscribers to Internet child pornography Web sites.

Since it began in July, the sweep has brought more than 2,000 arrests nationwide.

God, I gotta stop reading this board at work; this is sickening. Sex acts on a two-month-old? Lock him in a cell with horny gorillas for the rest of his life.

No, I think it's important for him to first be over-powered, and then sexually assaulted.

Nothing special...just make it known who this guy is, and throw him into the yard, with General Population. Gurantee that will be more punishment than he could possibly imagine...followed shortly by his demise.

Thats pretty sick, he will get his due one way or the other in prison from inmates or from the state. I gotta wonder though, why these sick bastards do all this crazy shit then film it then brag about it on the net.

I can think of no suitable punishment under our current laws.

Cases like this really make me believe we should have some very painful ways to execute people.

But thats just my opinion.

Death is too easy for him. Again, as it has been said put him in the general population at Pelican Bay. Make his identity known to the inmates. He will get his due.

No just punishment for this animal. Castration and a dressing him as a woman then dropping him off in Angola's (LA's State Prison) general population would come close.

You from La, Flub? Me too...Franklin.

Angola would be the perfect place for this prick. though he is in North CA...Pelican Bay would be definately suitable, as would Folsom.

I'm a Shreveporter there Fel.

I don't know anything about Pelican Bay. But I have seen Angola. Not from a prisoner stand point. And I didn't realize Pelican Bay was a real prison. Only heard it on The Shield.

Make him read all the postings here in Steam Vent from the past two years. That would be truly punishing.

Pelican Bay is for the worst of California's violent offenders.

Official website

Located on 275 acres in the northwest corner of California, Pelican Bay State Prison is designed to house the state's most serious criminal offenders in a secure, safe and disciplined institutional setting. The prison opened December 1989 to accommodate a need for a growing population of maximum-security inmates. PBSP has an approximate budget of $115 million and over 1400 employees.

One half of the prison houses maximum-security inmates in a General Population setting. The other half houses maximim-security inmates in the Security Housing Unit (SHU) designed for inmates presenting serious management concerns. The SHU is a modern design for inmates who are difficult management cases, prison gang members and violent maximim custody inmates. PBSP maintains a 296 bed Level I minimum support facility outside the security perimeter of the main institution. The institution also operates two unique programs: the Psychiatric Services Unit, which houses mentally ill inmates who are serving a SHU term, and the Transitional Housing Unit, which is an intensive program designed to reintegrate prison gang members back into a General Population setting.

He'll get his due in prison. The death penalty would be a blessing for this guy- throw him in gen-pop and he'll be punished appropriately.
