Default What's this democrats? Designated protest areas??

I seem to remember not too long ago, the liberal contingent of this board blasting George W. and the republicans for only allowing protests in certain areas as an infringement of their first amendment rights. Will you cry as loud now that your beloved DNC is doing the same? Will you? /bumble mode on. You libs still think you are right? We were right all along. We told you so and you didn't hear us!!
/bumble mode off

Doesn't matter who does it- pushing the protesters off into a shitty secluded area is dirty pool. This is just as bad as the shit Bush's team has pulled.

Boston's designated area for protesters
Seems like Boston is the one you should be attacking. Nowhere does this say that Democrats are asking protesters to be pushed out of the way. Nowhere does it say that Democrats are asking to silence critics.

Nice thinking there chief. So if I patronized a business that blatantly excluded blacks and other minorities, would I still not be a bigot?

Perhaps you ought to read the story. It doesn't say that Boston is not allowing protestors. It says that Boston has not finished the area where they are allowing protestors.

What i think is going to be hilarious watching all the pissed off people of Boston after they had their city turned upseide down for a nomination convention that never takes place.

You're not entirely far off there Chuk- the convention going to absolutely wreak havoc on those of us who commute into or out of the city. It's going to be fucking miserable for those couple of weeks.

I still don't really understand why they're using the Fleetcenter in the North End instead of pushing to use the new convention center in South Boston (which would probably have created less stress on people who work in the city).

Well, I guess you will be upset than Chuk because the nominating process will take place. The acceptance may not though.

You cant have a nomination if there is nobody to accept it. Like throwing birthday party for someone when its not their birthday. Hence this will just be another pointless convention like the Star Trek or Star Wars conventions except this one fucks businesses and traffic over and no celebrity guests like Mark Hamil or Bill Shatner.

Then what would you suggest Chuk- they need to have a convention.

As far as I'm aware he's postponing his acceptance because it allows him to use certain funds for a longer period of time than if he accepted now. Given the size of GWB's warchest currently I think it's a great idea.

So whats to stop kerry (or Bush) from delaying acceptance of the nomination indefinitely? why bother with a convention when the candidate wont accept it? 75 million isnt exactly chickenfeed and whose responsible for scheduling those conventions so far apart? Have fun with that pointless mess that you have to live with. I hate driving through Boston during a celtic or Bosox game, i shuder to think what the convention will do.

Good ideas = anything your side does.

Dirty pool = anything the other side does.

I thought that the new Bridge and under ground freeway were suppose to help alleviate the traffic into and out of Boston (Im not sure what its called, something I saw on TV). Has this not been completed as of yet? or is it just not helping?

Scalz, you're talking about the "Big Dig," which tore down the elevated central artery and put it all underground. Eventually it will mean the city will look far less ugly and parts of it will no longer be cut off from the rest by the highway, but I don't think it will make any noticable improvement in traffic- certainly hasn't so far.

Not sure if this was aimed at me or not, but didn't I just say that it was dirty pool for either party to push protesters off into secluded "free speech zones"? /shrug

Was just a general comment on politics and how people perceive things.

Dude, if any convention doesn't have Bill Shatner in attendance, why go?

Hillarious Bumbleroot! If the Conservatives do it no doubt it's Bush's fault. If the Dem's do it, of course it's the States fault. I have come to the conclusion that it would really suck to wake up and live in your world everyday.

I hope Bush gets elected for no other reason than to see you dem's whine for another 4 years.

Good thing McCain-Fiengold took the money out of politics. I guess you libs who have railed against Republicans over how much money they collect and spend should be doing the same now against Kerry. But something tells you don't mind Kerry now doing it.

If the Kerry doesn't accept the nomination at the convention. Wouldn't that just turn it into just a huge rally? And if that is the case, then don't the big 3 news media outlets have to give equal time to Republicans on those nites?
