Question Im New to this site

Hello EQ Peoples! I'm new to this site and just curious where, if at all, I would post a message looking for new recruits for our Guild? Too many Uber players retiring completely and although we're small ... we're worth saving! Can you direct me please?

Thank you for your time and any advice you may have to offer!

This seems to be the forum most people use- though some have suggested that there be a specific forum for guild recruiting. I don't know what the successes have been for those who choose to post recruitment needs here.

It's been a long while but I used to group with UH people back when I was leading OFS. Nice people, even if Rheaton was the leader (dirty conservative dog ). <assuming I'm remembering correctly>

Does the Federation exist anymore?

Anyway, good luck with your guild

Aye Yadaf, I've read some of your posts! Thanks for droppin me a note. Since Rheaton retired from EQ we've lost too many people and too many people just not able to play as much. I think the greatest thing about UH is that we all know that RL is important so we aren't "required" to be on at any particular time. We have an awesome bunch of people, it would be great to add a few more so we can do more groups, Ldon's, and maybe even pull together to do the occasional Raid. That would be Kewl.

I'm a bit embarrassed because Hormadrune asked about the Federation ... and to be honest ... I have no idea.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks again for saying hello and thanks for your kind words about UH!

Harhar

I meant the United Federation of Erollisi Marr (I think that was the full name). It was a loose association of guilds that presumably would raid together etc...

I know UH, Pax Familia, TA, Regia Antiquis (sp?), and a few others were in it at various times. My guild at the time (Order of Flaming Shrine) joined to help keep us actively raiding, but to be honest we didn't participate very much at all in the alliance, which seemed to falter after Pax broke up and TA left the Fed because their own raiding capabilities had outgrown the need for an alliance at the time. I'm fairly certain Rheaton was in charge of the Fed as well.

I found the message boards for it but they don't appear to be very active. http://pub95.ezboard.com/bemarrfederation

Thank you that cleared it up for me.
Looks like the most recent post was last year.

What a great idea though for the smaller Guilds to Unite!
I sure wish the Guild "Leaders" would communicate more along these lines.

It was indeed a good idea and for a while after RA got involved there was quite a lot of activity (as I'm sure there was before that, but obviously I didn't see it! )

Since RA is a Euro timezone guild, we did start to have difficulty findging Federation members online at the same time as us and the activity level in general seemed to fall off quite a bit, probably due to the reasons Horm mentioned above.
As far as I know, the Federation has never officially been disbanded, but as you may have seen from the message board, activity now is zero and I'd say the Federation is now dead but still waiting for the certificate to be signed!
