Default Mixed Bag

While it's awesome that Nancypants will no longer be speaker, I'm sad Reid kept his job...

Yeah, Reid staying on is a bummer. Overall, I don't see any real surprises in the results - it would have been nice to have had a few more upsets (say, Barney Frank or Reid). It would have been interesting if Prop 19 went through in CA - just to see how it works out for them. With Brown as gov now, I expect the whole state to go down in financial flames over the next few years. Maybe after a bit, they'll bring back Arnold as dictator for life.

I would have liked to see Reid go, but not at the expense of letting that knuckledragger Angle in. The voters made the absolute correct call there.

I don't know what choosing the "lesser of two evils" would be between Reid and Angle. Nevada voters kinda got boned there. Should have had Chris Christie retire from being NJ's gov and move to NV for a bit! /grin

Think of all the wonderful Chris Christie porn that would have come out of that....mmm...

So..does this mean a little bit more fiscal sanity for you Yankees down there, or just two more years of craziness and rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth partisanship that we've all come to love? (Hint: It's the latter that makes better soundbites for Youtube and the media. Just sayin'!)

It probably means gridlock, which from someone who loathes both major parties, is probably a good thing. The Dems certainly hadn't done enough to retain control of both houses, but neither has the GOP offered up believable solutions that made me root for them. The party of bad solutions versus the party of bad solutions...everybody loses!

Well, it really seems to be more of a "Party of bad solutions vs party of no solutions".
And while it may seem unrelated, I'm curious to see if oil tops $100 a barrel by the time the new Congress takes office.

No surprises in the Senate races, really. I think the resounding message from Repubs and Indies to the Repubs is "don't fuck it up this time."
