Default To be expected...follow-up patch...

September 14, 2004
-------------------

Follow-up Patch
-------------------
There were a few items we inadvertantly left off the initial patch message. We apologize for any inconveniences.

Mob Level Limits
-------------------
As we did with the dragons in the old world, we have decided to implement a level cap on certain high-end creatures in other expansions. The following should and will always remain raid encounters and will not be accessible to players over level 65:

Trakanon
Venril Sathir
Gorenaire
Severilous
Talendor
Velketor the Sorcerer
Klandicar
Zlandicar
Lord Yelinak
Dain Frostreaver IV
King Tormax
Derakor the Vindicator

PoP Corpse Summoning
-------------------
Following a death in any of the Planes of Power zones, you may summon your own corpse to the graveyard by selecting your character and using the /summonself command.

Cross-zone Corpse Summoning
-------------------
You may now have your corpse summoned across zone lines. The summon will work with existing corpse summoning spells, but will require a star ruby for a regent along with the appropriate coffin. A corpse that is summoned across zone lines cannot be ressurected.

Plead Command
-------------------
If your character gets aggro from an "intelligent" NPC, you will be able to use the plead command. This command would be equivalent to someone pleading for their life. This command will only work if you, your group, or your raid did not attack the NPC you are pleading with. If the NPC grants you this plea, you will be given temporary good standing faction with all factions the NPC is aligned with. During this 30-second period, you will not be attacked by, nor can you attack any NPCs with those factions in that zone. The plead command will not work if you have maximum bad faction with the NPC. The plead command will not work with non-intelligent NPCs such as spiders, wolves, etc.

Marti-patches always leave out the part where Rangers are now on the same hit point scale as Warriors.

This has made it to the eqlive board I see.

http://eqforums.station.sony.com/eq/....id=2248#M2248

Almost pissed myself when I saw someone posting it a querying as to whether it was real or not. Ashlane is now wondering where it came from.

Do you actually make these up, Martigan, or do you get them from elsewhere?

Martigan, you are the roxxors!! To have someone copy it to the SOE forums takes your posts to a new level! And then to have a SOE employee come online and refute it, that is amazing. You have put EMarr on the radar for all the other servers! My hats off to you Martigan. The only question I have for you is how do you get people to take you seriously when you need them to?

It's not a good idea until I get enough Tormax kills to get rid of these damned boots :P

I worked as a developer for Sony for 3 years, and as a QA supervisor for one (previous to being a developer). Matt Yaney (one of the EQ producers) worked as a contracted game tester and reported directly to me. I helped him get a job at InfoWorld magazine when Sony closed that CD-ROM dev shop. He later went back to Sony as an associate producter.

They learned from the best!

I just can't understand why Matt hasn't returned any of my emails...

The Dev's would have contacted Marty, but much to their dismay they found the spell checker still didn't work for him when he was typing the words inadvertently and resurrected. Inadvertently, I still have a corpse that needs to be resurrected. /plead.

Default Selective Reading

After seeing this post while waiting to log in, I dismissed it as a joke after laughing a bit. However after reading both Martigan"s patch and the official patch, I guess a few details got clouded for me....

When I finally logged into the servers (4:40AM Korean time for me) I headed to HoH, got my 2 kills to level 66, got my 9th spell slot, and headed to OoW.

After getting there and exploring a bit, I made it in 3 zones deep where I uninvised and got quadded for 800, give or take 300 HP's per swing. Well, needless to say as a Necromancer I didn't survive long.

At this time it was 9:30AM and I needed to get some sleep. So remembering the patch message I decided to just summon my corpse from PoK and eat the exp loss, would be easy to level back in HoH when I had more time to play. Ha Ha Ha, needless to say, one wasted coffin later I recalled that it was the Martigan patch that I was thinking about and started my run back to OOW .

His post had a much increased comedy value after that little incident. Thus my title being Selective reading . Sometimes we just see what we want to see.

/Cheers

Martigan's updated patches make me want to actually play again, as opposed to occassionally logging in to chat.

I doubt it. For one, what happens when the warrior gets banished?

I think it might be possible. I've main tanked Trakky before, and have been banished and summoned back a few times. He ping ponged me back and forth a bit.

In the end though he banished me a last time and I died to shrooms.
