Default Log in...

Yeah I get the connecting when I click on the patcher. Then it goes to the other window with the dark-elf chick. The it sits there......

When I hit the x to close it and try it again I get Everquest patcher is currently running it's not...

Anyone know what this is or how to fix it?

Even after a restart it still won't let me connect. Anyway to bypass the patcher at all?

EQW bypasses the patcher.

From the command line (and being in your EQ directory), type:

eqgame.exe PATCHME

and it will also skip the patcher.

EQW = EQWindows, a third party program that allows you to play EQ from within a window, and also skip the patcher using a GUI (Graphic User Interface as opposed to the command line option such as the one described above)

Komodo,

This happened to me last night when we were doing Fear.

Do a full reboot just to clear any junk(I did a full shut down since I was panicing after just a reboot and it wasn't clicking through).

I had it sit at the "Connecting...." for a bit before it brought up the other screen. It then took longer than normal for it to start the file scan but it did do it eventually.

After that it was fine.

I just did a quick check now and all connects and loads as normal.

I've also connected to the test server using the testeq (or something like that) , then back to the original EQ icon. The icon for test is in the Everquest directory if you don't have it on your desktop. Maybe a file that contains information on how to connect to the patch server was corrpupted? May / may not be what you need, I just wanted to throw out an alternative possible solution. Good luck.
