Default 10 Years of EQ?

It has been four years since Luclin was released, I believe. It doesn't seem that far back. Four years from now, EQ will have been out ten years. Some of you that have been playing since 1999...do you envision yourself playing a full ten years?

Wow, has it been that long already? Thanks for making me feel old man! To be honest i don't know if i'll be playing EQ for the next 4 years. As it is right now i've quit my War and am concentrating on my Zerker, which is 55. Getting groups at that level is not as easy as it once was. I would like to try and put a group together, but most times there are only 5 other people lfg in that 50-60 level group range. I think most people are Pl'd or can 2 box through those levels. Sooo...if i'm not progressing much on my current toon and hate playing my former main, why should I play for the next month let alone the next 4 years?

No, I find myself playing EQ2 more than EQ1 now, and its slowly running downhill for EQ1 for me. I'm not going to tell you all about why I choose to play EQ2 more because thats another rant/discussion.

I dont have fun playing EQ1 anymore. It seems to be a requirement that you have to be 65+ in order to find something decent to do, which usually involves raiding or doing something that takes several hours to get a new piece of gear. If your under 65, well usually those players are getting PL'd or are triple boxing. I find myself looking for an empty zone when I can be assed to log on to grind in, which is also the most boring thing ever.

The majority of people in EQ1 piss me off. I hope they all wake up one morning and realise it isnt worth it.

There is no low level game.
Its all high level and raiding now.

The only people left playing EQ1 are those who dont want to let go of their level 70 ubah twink, OR have friends they'll miss.

So! I wont be playing in 2009, I'd shoot myself before then.

Enough said.

Yup, I'll probably make the 10 year mark. I started in Dec 99. I was actually doing the Monthly payment until this past Anniversary when they offered a year for $99.00. So I sat back and thought about it (for all of 5 seconds..if that) and knew I'd be playing for at least another year.

A couple years ago I was looking forward to SWG being released since I love Star Wars. When it was finally released, I didn't even bat an eye and stuck with EQ.

Well.. been playing for 3yrs now. was a late comer to EQ, Do i see myself playing EQ in 4 yrs... ?? really depends on what they have to offer. I'll probably go play Vanguard when it finally comes out. but then again I may just come back to EQ... I did play EQ2, for a bit.. but found it boring.. (where did all the hero's go) don't get me wrong EQ2 is a beautiful game graphic wise... I just don't really like the play style much.. I'll stay play eq2 once in awhile when i want to solo.. but for now.. EQ1 is the game I'm interested in and liking.

I can't really say for sure if I will be playing eq on it's 10th year anniversery but probably so. I'm really not into raiding but use it as a tool because it's a way to be able to see interesting new places. EQ for me has always been immersing myself into little projects to see if I can get them done.

Lol little projects like:
VP key
Vex Thal key.
Bic Quest
8th Shawl.
Epic
Epic 1.5
7 CoA signets.
Don Progression
MPG group and Raid trials.

The list goes on and on. Anyhow personally, I find EQ too darn fun to leave it now.

I'm having as much fun now as I ever did in EQ, so I could possibly see myself playin in 09.

Same, having more fun now than ever - if it keeps up I'll still be around =P

Someone has to call Gragen a faggot in public channels - if I don't do it, who will?

Asmod goes into the retard class at my school and touches their horrific mongoloid weenises during nap time. I've seen him do it.*

*I may or may not be in this class. I may or may not have had my weenis touched. I may or may not have enjoyed it.

Hey I have to do something on those field trips into the special school to keep myself entertained. The mongoloids don't protest.. maybe because they can't talk, but that's not the point. Besides you know you always get "special" treatment.

Remember that time that we played pin the tail on the donkey? Why did you insist I take my pants off?

And why was I the donkey?

statistics show that anyone who plays eq for 10 years straight is 90% more prone to:

- heart disease (...white castle)
- diabeties (...mountain dew)
- obesity (...white castle AND mountain dew)
- back problems (sitting in a computer chair in an awkward position for 10 hours straight in the name of "phat lewtz")
- being 40 and still living in your parents basement
- staying a virgin forever

...statistics don't lie sirs! (...cause we all know there's no real girls in eq ;D)

I must be in the other 10% then....

heart disease ... nope (work out daily)
diabeties... hate sweet drinks.. pop... etc.... (on the other hand, beer and an occasionally glass of wine is good all in moderation)
obesity.. nope.. (see heart disease)
back problems.. well ergonomically solved..
being 40 .... over 40... so too late there
staying a virgin.... errr.... have a daughter.... so I have proof i'm not a virgin.

ok.. I fall under the other 10%

Wow, people really eat White Castle while they play? Like, voluntarily? I thought that was just for those nights when you were crawling back home drunk from wherever and nothing else was open?

Mountain Dew I can see, but White Castle?

Bleh!

No to all of the above. 10% baby here I come!

Back problems I do have though, but it's not from the chair.. it's from a physical aspect, that I.. well.. can't do much about except surgery, in which Chris would die from stroke if I had them shrunk! >.<

Even though I left EQ a while back, it's still depressing when I think of how I was in my 20s when I started playing.
