I would like to see a list of players above level 35 who would join a role playing guild, and at the same time raid, but stick to the role playing. Sound off here. Note: Maybe such a guild could be formed.

Hehehe... don't worry Leth. I am not going anywhere. I was only interested in seeing if people with characters over level 35 would join or form an RPing guild that also raided. I could have just as easily asked if such a guild is possible.

Of course it's possible to raid and be a RPing guild. But since many players wont even look a real RPing guild, RPing guilds are generally smaller and often have too few members to pull off a multigroup raid. That's not the case with every RPing guild, but it is a common theme.

If more players joined RPing guilds (the ones that would actually RP) then there is nothing a RPing guild can't do that any other guild can do. The catch is building the membership to a point were you can. That means that members need to be patient, loyal and willing to help with recruitment from time to time. At some point the membership numbers build to a point where it feeds on itself and you have people coming to you instead of members going out to recruit.

Anything is possible with numbers, but this game has been tainted with easier exp and easily attainable loot. Verant has shifted its focus from RP and focused on power. Its a shame most players now-a-days dont even realize its a Roleplaying game...or at least started that way.

Well, my wife and I are very new to this server, but we'd definitely love to raid and role-play. I've never actually gone on any raids during my (short) time in Everquest, but I don't understand why it's so hard. Sounds like some of the raids would be fun role-playing endeavors aside from the items gained. :)

Exactly... Raids can have meaning and purpose beyond the "hack N slash for Phat Lewt" goal. Many players have not been taught to appreciate that aspect of the game. They come into it not knowing anything about RPing, or have some preconceived idea about it that is usually not all together true and miss out on the different perspective that RPing gives. By the time they meet a RPer, the whole concept is so alien at that point, it is nearly impossible to explain a different play style.

Has anyone ever tried doing a series of RP'ing events leading up to a raid? Maybe something along the lines of a High Priestess of Erollisi Marr being held captive in the Plane of Hate, requiring a force of goodly-aligned types to go and rescue her...

We would but we're not quite large enough to pull off a Hate Raid without asking another guild to assist. I can certainly see us doing that.

I might give it a go and I know of at least one other. We both have over lvl 35 chars, and are looking into RP guilds at this time.

Well, unfortunately I'm only of the 20th season at the moment, but I do think that RP'ing and Raiding could very easily go hand-in-hand and I truly hope to be able to do both some time in the near future. :)
