View Full Version : VI Eliminates the CR

Anyone notice how in their attempt to please everyone they are making this game too easy? Like when they lower the level limit on spells, especially revival and summon lines.

Do you know how many people (and guilds) are going to make a twink necro and get him to level 12 (with the new policies, it will only take 10-30 minutes), giving him some cheap int gear and the summon corpse spell. Now, we have the ability to easily camp a necro in any zone and have him there to summon a corpse.

I don't know about you guys, but wont this be a lot like camping a level 1 Rogue in the Hole?

This will essentially eliminate the point, AND skill of corpse retreivals. I'm mean, @#%$, I'd camp a level 12 necro in the Hole, OS, ToV, Siren's Gratto, Kael, DN, and SS just for the hell of it. And coffins cost sooooo much, don't they? Wait, no, no they don't.

I mean, @#%$, do it with a Cleric while you're at it. A revive for a capped out level 60 is as good as a reviviscense.

I think VI should quit trying to please everyone before they have a game out there where you can be a newbie AND not have to be an ebayer to have a level 60. I remember when 60 was a milestone, a huge accomplishment. For example, look how Kerna is so excited about getting 60... I don't see people getting so excited in the future.

Anyways, just my thoughts. I quit a long time ago, so don't have to deal with it. I just don't like it.

The only problem with your theory is that the lower form of summon corpse will only work on characters lvl 36 and below.

I wish you would've said that earlier in your post. It would have saved me a lot of time.

Wow, Rara, you are a funny person. Are you some sort of clown sent here to amuse me? Because you are doing a good job at it.

Excuse me if your opinion is so much more valuable than mine.

And to all the others - Sorry, I was unaware of the fact that the above stated scenarios would only work for levels 36 and under. I appologize. I still think VI is making the game so easy.

HEHEHEHEHE.. I agree with you Enbekay.. Rara is funny.

I laughed out loud when I read that. UMMMM.. as someone actually playing the game... I'd say that their opinion on gameplay is a good bit more viable than yours. Especially when you haven't played with any of the current changes.

thank you.. come again... next please

Great, the people who can't raid the Hole get their summons, I don't get any bonehead "hey plz i died 10 zones away form u and we need teh summons!11 PLZZZZZZZZZ SIR". Works for me.

Im sorry but that is so not true, with alt xp and being in a raid guild, I have to keep an eye on my lvl 60 xp as well in case it gets down too low from dieing on raids. I need all the 60 xp I can get to keep from going back to 59

When was the last time you had fun on a corpse raid? Aren't games supposed to be fun? Is there any point to a corpse raid? really?

I don't know about you but if a game is too easy it's boring for me. Corpse runs are the risk, it's what spices things up.

I don't think they should have added some of the new stuff but I'm not hear to talk about that, just to mention the above point.

i have to agree, this game is getting too easy. when you see people parking their lvl 1 rangers in ww or dn other zones where they shouldn't be, just to track mobs...well i see that there is very little challenge left. that's not to say that everything in this game is easy, but they certainly have cut so many corners, enough to eliminate any of the old school delimas.

of course, if i was in a business where my product relied on customer satisfaction, and given the amount of bitching, complaining, and nagging people in this game do, i probably would crack and give them as much of what they want within reason.

however, i believe a good sense of balance is the best route. they seem to make things either too hard or too easy. like the old druid epic, having to track fay which spawned once a week randomly. he spawned in the largest zone in the game that was all ocean for the most part. the mob would spawn and roam for 2 hours only before it was killed. druids were having to kite an aoe fire dmg/fear mob around for an hour until their guild showed up to kill the mob. they decide to fix it and make it more reasonable, so they make it where you turn in an item to a mob that spawns every 4 hours which makes the dragon spawn. how gay is that. both options are ridiculous, one severely hard, the other severely easy. i guess a compromise doesn't compute with them.

Some corpse runs are fun. Many aren't. But most stories aren't very good without some sort of pain or suffering, so I say leave them in. You get to meet and help new people that way sometimes.

Seems to me VI is trying to appeal to the DAoC crowd seeing as a lot of this new stuff is similar to aspects of DAoC.

Just my opinion tho :D

I don't think this makes the game any more easy. How did this make the level 50s lives easier? All they are doing is balancing the gap between uber and newb. So what? Now newbs can hunt in najena with out worrying about losing their corpse forever. Little folks can exp hunt in dungeons! How is this a bad thing? They are not making the game easier. They are giving lower levels the ability to explore dungeons more. Go ask any "new" level 20-30 character, ask them if they know who Najena is. Ask them if they know where the ice crystal staff drops. Ask them where Black Alloy armor comes from. Ask them who King Xorbb is. The list can go on and on! With the ability to actually summon a corpse at lower levels, this will give them a chance to adventure into dungeons.

Hell, the only thing this makes easier for the 50+ folks, is they don't have to train the incomming 50s of dungeon tactics. Who the hell wants someone in their group that has only fear kited? Who has only kited/quad kited?

Don't say the destruction of the pre-10 CR is also a simplification. How long were YOU a pre-10 newb?

Yes it was me who dispelled all the slow mobs and AE'd when there was a ton of mez'd stuff all around us and let my pet hit everything. Just cause I love running all the back and being the hero and CR is so much fun.
Really, people asking you for summons all the time kinda sucks. Sometimes I don't mind at all. Other times I'll get in a good group, direcharm up, all buffed and then you get the purple.
"Dude I tried to kill phinny solo and died, can you get me?"
There really aren't that many lvl 60 necros and I notice many people don't bother to tell the lvl 57 necro that is in like the zone next to theres.
Group goes down to the hole, doesn't ask you to come.
Hour later, " Hey man are you busy?"
I wish the little lvl 12's could summon whoever the hell they wanted. No I don't think a lvl 12 with his 170hp dot and 45hp lifetap is going to replace us, just would make our life easier. You ever try to rescue more than a group with unstackable/baggable coffins? It sucks.

Well, first off, I'm not acting like anyone. I had something to say and said it, as I will continue to in the future. I dont know Vendrix but sounds like he may be witty too.

Secondly, my post was about people bitching about gameplay who dont even play the game anymore, much less play with the current changes. The end comment was showing how much value I put in someone's posts who fit this category.

Third, thank you for a meaningless post on this thread.. your posts have gone up by one. I'm sure you're very happy.

Everytime we didnt have a necro(and before 51) or a rogue. CR's have been alot more entertaining than most raids I've been on.

Most corpse raids I have been on sucked, but there have been a few really fun ones... naked fighting back to the efreeti room with 4 people was a blast.

... naked fighting back to the efreeti room with 4 people was a blast.

I'm only using your quote to prove my point Martigan, =D

What would someone under level 36 be doing in the efreeti room? Naked, fighting to get back there?

They wouldn't. Apparently the old summon corpse spells are not readily available for everyone. Who's to say that this isn't the same for the younger folks?

Excuse me if your opinion is so much more valuable than mine.

I'm not going to harp on this, but REALLY, when you decide to rant on something, have all the facts for god's sake. More importantly, when you get caught with your pants down, don't blame me for your stupidity. Bow out, back down, and then make fun of yourself. When you put everything into perspective, my two sentence reply holds more water than your seven paragraph impersonation of amoebic dysentary.

Don't get me wrong... I enjoy rants as much as the next guy. I just feel cheated by yours.
